1 HOUR COMPREHENSIVE EYE TEST

We focus on complete eye care and visual health.

REFRACTION

This part of the visual test consists of a few methods that are used to determine the power of your spectacles or contact lenses. It measures the refractive error of your eyes and determines whether you have Myopia (nearsightedness), Hyperopia(farsightedness), Astigmatism or Presbyopia(struggling to see near, over 40’s).

FUNDUS PHOTOGRAPHY

A fundus camera is used to record an image of the interior surface of the eye. Eye conditions such as Diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Retinitis Pigmentosa can be detected and followed up with this technology.

TONOMETRY

Tonometry is the procedure performed to determine the pressure of the eye. It is an important test in the evaluation of patients at risk of Glaucoma.

TOPOGRAPHY (WHEN INDICATED)

Corneal topography is a non-invasive medical imaging technique for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea, the outer structure of the eye. Since the cornea is responsible for 70% of the eye’s refractive power, its topography is of critical importance in determining the quality of vision and corneal health. It is a valuable tool in determining successful contact lens fitting.

CORNEAL FLUORESCEIN STAINING

Fluorescein is a bright colour dye that is used to investigate the exterior surface of the eye. It is used to detect dry eyes, corneal abrasions and foreign bodies. It is also used in contact lens fitting.
